ARLBERG WINTER VIA FERRATA

The only winter via ferrata in the Tyrol is a must-explore for ski touring enthusiasts. The 850 m long climbing route lies in the Rendl ski area – an exceptionally scenic path secured by steel cable. The start of the via ferrata lies just a few metres from the Rifflbahn II mountain station. It then continues over a rugged ridge, which is secured by steel cable, to the Vordere Rendlspitze peak (2645 m). Upon reaching the end of the via ferrata, you can enjoy marvellous descents down untouched slopes.

TOBOGGANING

Ride like the wind down the 4 km natural toboggan run from Gampen to Nasserein. You can easily reach the start by hoping on the Nassereinbahn, which is located directly opposite the the Biwak. The course takes about 15 minutes before you arrive in the valley, or you can make a pit stop half way down at the rustic toboggan hut. You can also try tobogganing at night: the run is lit up in the evening twice a week. Toboggans are available to rent from Intersport Arlberg.
